Overview

Leysdown is one of UBM's oldest centres and it is common to meet children whose parents and grandparents attended in the past.

In days gone by Leysdown was the home of Britain’s first aircraft factory, but is now principally a holiday resort. During the summer weeks it is teeming with holiday makers, mainly from London, Essex, and Kent.

Many families spend the whole school holiday in one of the numerous caravans or chalets. The children, teenagers and adults are full of fun and happily come along to the UBM events. For those of you who enjoy working with lively children or have an ability to talk simply and directly to adults, then Leysdown is the place to be. As well as the day programme with the children (although parents join in too), other activities include daily family events and evening events with teenagers.
