Overview

Canterbury provides a unique opportunity to engage people with the gospel. A major tourist destination for people from all over the world but especially the UK and mainland Europe, it is also a university city boasting up to 40,000 students.

The pedestrianised shopping streets through the heart of the walled city have a relaxed atmosphere and many visitors and locals are ready to stop and listen to the preaching of the gospel or to engage in conversation.

We normally work on the corner of Rose Lane and the High Street where there is a large tree (providing some shade – from the sun or rain!), several benches and a café. We run the open air meetings from approximately 11am through to about 4pm.

This year our main base will be with Grace Church Folkestone, who have partnered with us to provide the accommodation required for the week.

The whole team will be located here as there is plenty of space and a number of separate rooms available, as well as shower facilities! After breakfast we will then travel into Canterbury by minibus.

As with our other missions, all team members will need to bring a camp bed, sleeping bag and pillow.
During the day and for lunch we have use of facilities at St Andrews United Reformed Church, located in the centre of Canterbury, and very close to the open-air site.

The open-air site is located centrally on the corner of the Parade / High St. and Rose Lane
